"THE KNOB"
"WHAT DOESN"T KILL YOU ONLY MAKES YOU SCARED-ER" - Me
The Elliott Knob ride is a tradition trip. The fire road leading to the top of the knob is plagued with boulders, steep inclines, downed trees and seemingly bottomless roadside ledges. Taking old bikes with bad suspension and loads of gear to the top to some may seem like a recipe for disaster...and it is. Bikes tumble over, parts break, gear flies down the mountain, and beer starts to explode in bags. As asinine a trip this may seem, getting to the top makes it all worth the punishment. Once at the top you are not only greeted with an amazing view of the Appalachian Mountains, but you get to spend the night in a flippin' abandoned fire tower... So to us, it's totally worth every dented tank, bent up exhaust and exploded beer it takes to get there. Photos from 2014-on.
